Gamesauce Challenge Announces Global Game Jam Winners

The GGJ2011 Poster by Sjors HoukesWe have announced the ten winners of the Gamesauce Challenge for the IGDA Global Game Jam!

The ten winning games were selected from the 1487 games that were developed last weekend during the Global Game Jam 2011. Each winning team has been awarded the opportunity to showcase their game during Casual Connect Europe on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Hamburg, Germany and all-access passes to Casual Connect Europe and three nights of accommodation.

Submissions were judged based on the potential of their teams to create commercially viable projects and meet with publishers during Casual Connect Europe. Each Global Game Jam site was given the opportunity to nominate their very best project for the contest.

  6. A GGJ nomination is a great honor and privilege for us at team “Death Pizza.” It is events like GGJ that gives us budding designers / developers a chance to show the world that huge teams, big budgets, and several years of development can make an awesome game, but at the same time so can 48 hours, dedication, and massive amounts of junk food. The extreme time limit allows us to forget about all the bells and whistles, and instead concentrate on what matters most, making a fun game.

Thank you to gamesauce, GGJ, GGJ Finland, and all the sponsors from around the world for making this event viable. Congratulations to all the other nominees and all the other GG Jammers, we are all winners in my book.
